Job Description
REPORTING TO: Farm Manager
JOB PURPOSE: To oversees the maintenance and operation of facilities on the farm. In addition, to ensure that all infrastructure, equipment, and utilities are functioning efficiently to support farm operations.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Coordinate and manage repair and maintenance work performed by technicians, vendors, and contractors.
2. Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
3. Safeguard materials against loss and damage, minimizing waste.
4. Infrastructure Oversight:
- Monitor and maintain farm buildings, structures, and utilities (such as water supply, electrical systems, and HVAC).
- Address any issues promptly to prevent disruptions.
5. Budgeting and Planning:
- Establish and manage operating and capital budgets for facility-related expenses
- Plan for upgrades, repairs, and replacements as needed.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
7. Training and Development:
- Provide training to staff to enhance their skills.
- Supervision of Staff and 3rd party Contractors
- Develop innovative ideas and methods to improve operational performance.
8. Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments and management to achieve overall farm goals.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education and Work Experience
- Diploma/degree in Agriculture Engineering, Heavy Equipment Repairer, Mechanical.
- 8 years post qualification experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field is essential and 3 years in a Supervisory Position.
