EXTERNAL SALES ENGINEER
JOB DESCRIPTION
KSB Zambia Limited is a leading global provider of high-quality pumps and pump solutions. We are committed to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers, and we are now looking for a talented External Sales Engineer to join our team.
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable External Sales Engineer to join our Lusaka team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting our pumps and pump solutions to a wide range of customers, both existing and new, and will play a key role in driving sales growth and expanding our market share.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs and identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell our products.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, developing and executing sales strategies to win new customers.
- Provide technical expertise and support to customers, helping them to specify and select the most suitable pumps and pump solutions for their applications.
- Following up on customers for payments for those that collect on credit.
- Carry out site assessment to determine what exact equipment and materials are required for site works.
- Actively applying cost leadership principles when quoting projects or outsourcing products or services to maximize profits.
- Training new sales personnel
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and sales meetings to promote our products and services.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to inform sales strategies and optimize sales performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and adhere to industry regulations and standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical).
- Proven experience in a sales engineering or external sales role, preferably in the pump industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of pumps and pump systems, including design, selection, and application.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering sales results.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the country, with a valid driver’s license and passport.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Must be a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
