Electrician (Siavonga)

Yalelo Ltd seeks to hire an experienced and qualified Electrician who will lead the Electrical team to undertake a variety of electrical repairs and periodic testing within a Production area. The Electrician will also ensure that there is strict adherence to health and safety regulations by the electrical team and that the service is efficient, customer focused and cost effective and quality work is delivered all the time.

The Right Fit candidate will perform among others, the following functions:

Focuses and specializes in electrical design, installation, alteration, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of main and branch circuits of interior and exterior electrical systems.

Performs repairs on power distribution, transformer, emergency generators and other miscellaneous electrical components.

Performs planning, estimating and commission of new construction and renovations of electrical systems, and equipment which requires direct involvement in calculating and balancing three phase panel loads.

Reads electrical blueprints, diagrams, wiring schematics and other drawings.
Compiles documents, analyses test data, and performs electrical calculations to determine source of problems and the corrective action to take.

Uses various electrical test instruments to determine power requirements and availability.

Assembles and installs lighting fixtures, switches, disconnects, electrical panels, junction boxes, conduit fittings, hangers, pulls wiring / cabling and makes wiring terminations Assembles, installs, tests, and repairs electrical conduits, fittings, electrical panels, switchboards, transformers, motor controls centres and motor starter.

Ensures safe execution of each assignment as per work order.

Assigns, completes, and documents work requests utilizing the Facilities (CMMS) Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Schedules work with managers and other departments

Manages electrical contractor activities and work plans
Manages and continuously develops the team of Electricians, ensuring that forecast labour and material resources are appropriately planned and allocated in accordance with projected work flow and agreed budgets

Aspires to continuously improve in all areas of electrical engineering across the site

The right fit candidate must have :

Trade Certificate or better in Electrical Technology with 3 years work experience.

Experience working with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems.

Experience working with industrial generators.

Intermediate to advanced electrical troubleshooting skills.

Experience working in a FMCG is an advantage.
