Job Description

Reports to: Senior Driver

Purpose of the Job: Responsible for providing secure and timely driving services to transport authorized passengers, correspondence, and goods from one place to another

Main Responsibilities

  • Transport authorized passengers and goods from one place to another as scheduled.
  • Keeps the assigned vehicle(s) clean and polished at all times.
  • Maintains a travel log book for the vehicle(s), monitoring the mileage and fuel
    consumption rate.
  • Performs and coordinates preventive and regular maintenance of the vehicle(s) and
    report any faults in a timely manner.
  • Carries out pre-shift check of assigned vehicle for oil, water, tyre pressure and any
    visible defects.
  • Identifies and or reports any accident, injury, or damage to the vehicle(s) as
  • Schedules vehicle examinations for road worthiness or fitness when due or called
  • Monitors and follows up the renewal of vehicle licenses.
  • Monitors and ensures that the vehicle is regularly serviced and licensed with
    certificate of fitness as required.
  • Ensures daily authorization of journeys by completing the log book in order to
    avoid unauthorized trips and carrying unauthorized passengers.
  • Secures the assigned vehicle by parking it in a safe and authorized area
  • Collects/receives from HR Office and delivers mail, documents to and from Post
    Office and other organizations as directed by the Supervisor daily
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Grade 12 Certificate with 5 ‘O’ levels
  2. A certificate or higher in motor vehicle maintenance or any related field will be an added advantage
  3.  Valid PSV Driver’s License
  4. At least Two (2) years’ experience in a large organization with clean record
