Organization Summary:

Ciheb-Zambia is a non-profit local Zambian organisation supporting Ministry of Health to scale up comprehensive HIV prevention and testing services and find the best solutions to life threatening situations among communities in Zambia.

Position Summary

The DREAMS Site Coordinator will be a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the DREAMS sites within the catchment community. This role involves providing technical support to all staff members working at the center, ensuring the effective implementation of the DREAMS program. The incumbent will also play a crucial role in managing sub-awardees who are responsible for executing various components of the DREAMS program within the community.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the DREAMS sites, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and conducive environment for program participants.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures, protocols, and guidelines to optimize the efficiency of the center.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to all staff members within the DREAMS center, including program officers, counselors, and community mobilizers.
  • Ensure that staff are well-trained and equipped with the necessary skills to effectively implement the DREAMS program.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to program activities, participant data, and outcomes.
  • Implement a robust document management system to ensure all records are organized and easily accessible when needed.
  • Collaborate with sub-awardees responsible for various components of the DREAMS program within the catchment community.
  • Monitor the progress of sub-awardees, provide technical assistance as needed, and ensure compliance with program goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic reports on program activities, achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Participate in program evaluations and assessments to measure the impact of the DREAMS program within the community.
  • Collaborate with the Provincial Health Office prevention department in providing bio medical intervention to the AGYW
  • Document success stories from the AGYW

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree or Diploma in nursing, clinical sciences, public health
    Registered with the General nursing council or Health Professionals council of Zambia
  • Proven experience in program management, preferably in the field of HIV prevention, gender equity, or youth empowerment

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment programs, with a focus on community-based interventions and coordination
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and AGYW.
  • Knowledge of HIV prevention and adolescent health services is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with data management and reporting systems.
    Experience working with sub-awardees or sub-partners in project implementation.
  • Knowledge of community networks, district-level coordination mechanisms, and stakeholders in the field of HIV prevention.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of local languages may be advantageous.
