Maamba Collieries Limited (MCL), a Nava Group, has the largest coal mining concession and since commissioning in July 2016, operates the only coal-fired Thermal Power Plant in Zambia, adopting modern, eco-friendly mining and processing methods. As the largest Independent Power Producer in the country, the 300MW mine-mouth power plant at Maamba, caters to the growing demand for power and accounts for over 10% of the generation capacity, thereby contributing to the energy security and economic development of the nation.
Now Maamba Collieries Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Nava Bharat Ventures Limited, is set to double its power generation capacity from 300 megawatts (MW) to 600 MW. This expansion, which falls under Phase II of MCL’s development plan, will involve the addition of 2 x 150MW (300MW) power units.

MCL is hereby advertising the following position for expansion project 2 x 150 MW Thermal Power Plants located at Maamba, Zambia.

DOCUMENT CONTROLLER

Location: Maamba
Position: 1 (One)

Minimum Qualifications;

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3- 5 years’ experience in document control within the engineering, construction, or power generation sectors, preferably with experience in industrial project.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in document control software and systems like MS Office Suite. knowledge of AUTOCAD will be an added advantage.

ROLE OF THE POSITION

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Document Management: Establish and maintain an effective document control system for the project, ensuring all documents are correctly logged, stored, and accessible as required.
  • Compliance: Ensure all project documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Coordination: Liaise with project team members, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate document submission and retrieval.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and verify documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance before distribution.
  • Version Control: Implement and manage version control for all project documents, ensuring that the most current versions are available and obsolete versions are archived.
  • Training: Provide training and support to project staff on document control procedures and systems.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on document status, workflow, and compliance issues for project management.
  • Audits: Facilitate internal and external audits of document control processes and records.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues related to document control in a timely and efficient manner.

SECONDARY/ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing and overseeing all project documentation to ensure the efficient handling.
    storage, and retrieval of documents.
  • High level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to maintain the integrity and accuracy of all project records.
  • Preparation and submission of MIS reports.
