Position Title: Director of Health Partnerships

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Reports To: Executive Director

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

The Director of Health Partnerships will be a key leader at Anchor Health Partners, responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with health facilities, government, NGOs, and logistics companies. This role will ensure that our programs effectively address the medical resource needs of underserved communities through needs-based planning & resourcing, sustainable system development, distribution & logistics, training & capacity building, and program management.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership Development:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with health facilities, government bodies, NGOs, and logistics companies.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Negotiate and manage agreements with partners to ensure alignment with Anchor Health Partners’ mission and goals.

Program Management:

  • Oversee the implementation of Anchor Health Partners’ programs, ensuring they align with our mission and goals.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, timelines, and reporting.

Needs Assessment and Resource Planning:

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand the specific medical resource requirements of each health facility.
  • Collaborate with health facilities to develop strategic resourcing plans that outline steps to improve healthcare delivery.

Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee the procurement of high-quality, compatible medical supplies and equipment.
  • Manage the logistics of storage, transportation, and distribution of medical resources.

Training and Capacity Building:

  • Develop and implement training programs for health facility staff focused on inventory management, supply chain logistics, and effective use of medical equipment.
  • Ensure continuous support and capacity building to optimize resource utilization.

Quality Assurance and Monitoring:

  • Ensure all equipment and supplies meet the standards and infrastructure of recipient facilities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, ensuring efficient resource use and capturing impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare management, international development, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management role within the healthcare or nonprofit sector.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing strategic partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of global health sector and supply chain management.
  • Experience in needs assessment, resource planning, and capacity building.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with international partners and operate within multicultural contexts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to AHP’s mission and vision.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
