Responsibilities:
* Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
* Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
* Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, phones, or global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
* Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
* Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid, performing minor repairs, or washing trucks.
* Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
* Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
* Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
* Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
Requirements:
1. At least 3 years’ experience driving a horse/trailer combination;
2. Must be able to drive a manual transmission;
3. Must have valid passport and driving license (PDRP D and G);
4. Yellow fever card;
5. Dangerous Goods Certificate (BELSAM);
6. Must meet medical requirements to operate as a driver.

* Truck Engine Repairs and Overhauls;
* Truck Maintenance, Service & Repairs;
* Trailer Repairs;
* Fleet Maintenance;
* Fuel Tanker Maintenance;
* Roadworthy Inspections;
* Light Vehicle Maintenance;
* Service & Repairs;
Commercial & HV Wheel Alignments;
* Earthmoving equipment Service & Repairs;
* Workshop based, Field Service and Labour Hire;
* Air Conditioning Repair;
* Assemble mechanical equipment;
* Inspect engines and run a range of diagnostic tests;
* Conduct repairs on engines and electrical components;
* Maintain machinery and equipment by cleaning and replacing fluids and parts;
* Rotate tyres and balance wheels;
* Interpret and follow work orders;
* Follow checklists during inspections to ensure all necessary parts are examined;
* Consult with customers and clients about problems and maintenance;
* Repair hydraulic systems;
* Repair cooling systems and hosing;
* Install, maintain and repair air conditioning systems;
* Keep detailed logs of completed work;
* Report on functionality and safety issues;
* Conduct test drives to confirm repairs and maintenance have been completed;
* Comply with safety and environmental standards;
* Monitor supplies and place orders for stock when necessary.
Essential Requirements for Mechanics :
* G12;
* Trade Qualified Mechanic Certificate;
* Current Valid Driver’s Licence;
* Extensive knowledge and experience conducting diagnosis, maintenance and repairs;
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
* Police Clearance ;
* Highly Regarded;
* Valid passport.
