Job Description


We invite applications from suitably qualified and innovative individuals to take up the position of Creative & Graphic Designer to be based in Kitwe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating aesthetically pleasing visual and audio content for CEC. Other responsibilities include defining requirements, visualising and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos as well as shaping the visual aspects of websites, books, magazines, product packaging, exhibitions, and more. This role will be reporting to the Senior Manager – Corporate Communication.

Key Accountabilities

  • Participates in the formulation, development, and execution of plans for communication through creative input
  • Provides relevant support to units within CEC by understanding and executing their creative requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining a content planner or calendar for prompt execution of communication
  • Provide support in the development of creative content based on internal customer needs
  • Provide support in the editing of internal communications, newsletters, and publications
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent use of the CEC brand and logo across all platforms and material
  • Edit and create all company-related publications for advertising in the press, social media, and website
  • Maintains a record of all designed content and templates for use
  • Responsible for maintaining records of audio and visual content developed in liaison with the Records Management Centre
  • Responsible for the designing of all exhibition display content
  • Responsible for providing photography and video support at events
  • Film and edit documentaries/short videos for CEC
  • Design and layout of the Annual Report
  • Carry out any other corporate communication duties not expressly mentioned but relevant to the development of the role and effective functioning of the department, and to ensure a consistent corporate image in internal and external communication

To be successful in this role, you will be required to have:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Diploma in Graphic Design
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification industry experience
  • Experience with in-house creative and design support
  • Competence in photography and videography
  • Experience in creating animations, 3D will be an added advantage
  • Content planning experience
  • Experience in filming and producing documentaries/short videos
  • Proficiency in computer and software use (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, adobe design suite, blender/cinema 4D)
  • Experience designing annual reports
  • Digital marketing skills will be an added advantage
