COPYWRITER/EDITOR (Part-time Consultancy/ Remote or In-person)

Media 365 is seeking a detail-oriented wordsmith and creative copywriter to write and edit clear and concise copy for advertisements, websites and publications, including the bi-monthly SKY Girls Zed magazine. The copywriter/ editor is responsible for researching, writing and/ or assisting with editorial development and content management of printed and online marketing communications for both internal and external clients. Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Edits, researchers, proofreads, writers and/or assists with editorial development of printed and online marketing communications including SKY Girls Zed magazine, blog posts, website content, scripts, newsletters, email campaigns, and other components as required
• Writes, edits, proofreads and assists with online content development and advises on usability issues
• Researchers materials for industry-related news, events and trends
• Maintains brand-consistent language and design style standards in all published materials and helps maintain brand style guidelines
• Collaborate with graphic designers and create visually attractive pieces of content
• Assists other departments in writing, editing, researching, interviewing and proofreading as required
• Reviews copy scheduled for publication for accuracy
• Any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Degree in mass communications, journalism, marketing, English or a related field
• Outstanding writing/ editing skills
• At least four years demonstrated experience with proofreading and editing
• Strong attention to detail
• Good time-management skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Critical thinker and problem solver
• Excellent research skills
• Ability to mentor junior writers
• Proficient in MS Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work beyond normal business hours and travel as required
• Affinity with Media 365 values

Desirable

• Passionate about projects targeting girls and young women
• Proficient in Google Suite
• Previous experience managing photoshoots for publications

Work-life balance at Media 365 is in line with consulting norms, meaning your work hours will be dictated by the phase and requirements of the project assigned to you.
In weeks with close deadlines, we work longer hours (reasonably to expect a 60-hour work week). In weeks with no immediate major deadlines, 40-hour work weeks are the norm.
