Job description:

Overall Job Purpose:

The position of Coordinator, Transport, is aimed to maximise the availabilities of all Light Vehicles, Low beds, Light trucks, buses and Mechanical Horses, through specialised skills in support of increased availabilities and maintaining the integrity of the equipment & resources. Reporting directly to the Site Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing the highest quality services and that all services provided are performed within a safe and timely manner.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;

Be a self-starter and able to work autonomously and as part of a team
Demonstrate a commitment to work place safety and the safety of your subordinates.
Be accurate, methodical, and practical when giving guidance to supervisors and drivers.
Enforce Compliance to work order attachments and documents such as JSA’s, Work Procedure’s, etc.
Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental Management systems, policies and procedures along with ensuring that all risks have been identified, managed and safe working environment is maintained
Provide the Manager with necessary feedback availability and maintenance, and matters requiring management’s attention.
Maintain good housekeeping practices by enforcing cleaning up before, during and after every task and not leaving any hazards within the work place
Provide the Manager with practical suggestions and improvements for the section.
Ensure that subordinates receive all necessary trainings being offered by companies training team and beyond.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Possess high level communications skills for all stake holders
Assist in the proactive identification of repair and maintenance works required.
Ensure timely inspections of all vehicles, availability of vehicles to ensure equipment complies to standard to ensure the safety of all personnel as well as servicing clients.

Job Specific Competencies:

High co-ordination, control and direction skills including troubleshooting abilities.
Fleet management and maintenance of Fleet background.
The ability to make informed decisions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
A positive, self-motivated and conscientious attitude.

Experience required to perform in this job

5 years’ minimum experience in the field of Fleet Management.
The ability to make informed decisions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

Diploma in Transport and Logistics or a Mechanical Qualification.
Grade 12 Certificate.
