EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Zambeef Products PLC is the largest integrated cold chain food products and agribusiness company in Zambia and one of the largest in the Southern Africa region.  It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, stock feed and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER – CHISAMBA (01)

The Required Skills for this Role Include:

  • Delivering projects to schedule and within the project timeline and budget
  • Enforcing SHERQ compliance, ensuring project safety files are in place and in line with Zambeef SHE guidelines.
  • Scoping projects to inform the procurement process
  • Supporting line functions to develop projects to agreed budget and/or agreed cost flows
  • Submitting Capital expenditure applications with the required project sequence documentation in line with the annual capital cycle projects.
  • Completing monthly inputs for each active assigned project ensuring that the financial, risk and planned steps are highlighted along with the actual and revised timeline and cash flows as prescribed in the monthly input.
  • Managing contractors to ensure that agreed SLA’s and Zambeef standards are met for all projects.
  • Evaluating and signing off the implementation of the BOQ and work standards of all assigned projects as per the defined scopes and contracts
  • Keeping up to date with industry and Zambeef best practices.
  • Promoting and adhering to Zambeef’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

The Required Qualifications are:

  • Minimum 6 Credits or better in Grade 12
  • Degree or equivalent in Civil / Building Science / Quantity Surveying/ Project Management; relevant professional registration
  • PMP/Prince 2 will be an added advantage
  • Experience: 7+ years experience in construction, manufacturing or industrial project management,
  • Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
  • Specific skills: industrial engineering experience, project management of medium to large projects

  • Must exhibit high levels of integrity and initiative

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in pressured and deadline-driven operating environment

QUANTITY SURVEYOR – CHISAMBA (01)

The Required Skills for this Role Include:

  • Preparing Bills of Quantities for tenders, carrying out evaluations, analyzing quotes and providing technical guidance to the adjudication team.
  • Preparing estimates of works and providing guidance on the best procurement method for the particular job
  • Monitoring effective use of materials, labour and equipment.
  • Providing guidance to the procurement team on quality, quantity and time delivery of materials
  • Adhering to all principles of cost saving measures throughout the lifecycle of a structure during design, implementation, operations, demolition and waste management
  • Preparing estimates and budgets for decision making
  • Ensuring that purchase orders are done in accordance with section requirements (in terms of quality, usage and price) and that, material are correctly specified and ordered timely
  • Providing technical and professional advice on designs and drawings to ensure conformity to accepted standards and safety whilst being cost effective
  • Give priority to safety, quality and environmental principles and practices, for all maintenance and projects, advising the line functions accordingly
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress using Best Practice Quantity
  • Surveying practices to certify project progress during execution
  • Signing off all works in line with BOQ’s, Quality Control Processes and legislative requirements
  • Promoting and adhering to Zambeef’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

The Required Qualifications are:

  • Minimum 6 Credits or better in Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Building Science or Quantity Surveying; relevant professional registration a mus
  • Experience: 5+ years experience at industrial installations or in building services
  • Member of Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors
  • Leadership and communication skills; ability to negotiate and influence others; computer skills (Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project); ability to accurately interpret drawings and client’s need
