Job Description
About the Role:
St Ignatius College is seeking a dedicated and skilled College Foreman to oversee and manage day-to-day maintenance and operational activities on campus. This role requires a hands-on leader who ensures that the college’s infrastructure, facilities, and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and operating efficiently. Building skills are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Oversee repairs, renovations, and general upkeep of college buildings and facilities.
- Ensure the maintenance of grounds, including landscaping, drainage, and outdoor facilities.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Prepare and manage schedules for routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment needed for maintenance tasks.
- Provide hands-on support with maintenance work as required.
- Collaborate with college administration to prioritize maintenance projects.
- Ensure proper record-keeping of all maintenance activities and reports.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a foreman, maintenance supervisor, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor when necessary.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Certification or vocational training in a relevant field.
