CLINICAL OFFICER GENERAL X1

Job Purpose

Reports to the Clinical Administrator. The purpose of the job is to advocate and care for individuals from first contact to the next point of referral and support them through health and illness.

Main Responsibilities

• Thoroughly Screen patients, prescribe and administer appropriate treatment.
• Actively implement set organization strategies.
• Perform basic surgical procedures within the scope of a clinical officer general.
• Ensure the timely writing of reports in order to facilitate decision making.
• Implement and undertake regular research in clinical care in order to perform efficiently and up to WHO standard guidelines.
• Refer patients to the next level of treatment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with 5 credits in English, Maths, Sciences and any other subjects.
• Degree/Diploma in nursing from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in similar capacity with traceable references.
• Certificate in psychosocial counseling and HIV/AIDS management will be n added advantage
• Fully registered with the health professions council of Zambia
• Knowledge and practical skills of general medicine is a prerequisite.
• Strong interpersonal skills
