Job Description


The Learning ladder is a  safe and exciting learning environment that aims to provide a complete Montessori program which considers the emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development of the total child by addressing the uniqueness of each in a nurturing, emotionally secure and academically excellent environment.

Class Teacher (1)

Our teachers are responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. They develop and implement a curriculum based on the Montessori method of teaching and create an environment that encourages exploration and independent learning. Teachers work with and provide instruction to children ages 0-6, as well as collaborate with other educational professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that adhere to the Montessori method of teaching
  • Create a classroom environment that encourages exploration and independent learning
  • Monitor children’s progress and adjust the lesson plan accordingly
  • Provide individual instruction to students in need of extra attention
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members
  • Encourage creativity and self-expression
  • Provide a safe and secure learning environment for children
  • Establish and enforce classroom rules
  • Assess students’ abilities and develop individual learning plans
  • Participate in field trips and other extracurricular activities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the Montessori method of teaching
  • Ability to create lesson plans and a stimulating learning environment
  • Knowledge of child development stages and the ability to adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Patience, understanding, and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, other teachers, and staff
  • Ability to stay organized and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviours
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Commitment to professional development

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, education, or related field
  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting
  • Certification in the Montessori method is preferred but not required.
