Position Overview:

We are seeking a Bookkeeper & Financial Reporting Officer to help manage our day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide key financial insights to the Managing Director. This is an essential role in supporting the financial health of the company as we continue to expand our lending services. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn new systems, including Zoho Books accounting software, to manage our financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring proper categorization and reconciliation of financial transactions related to lending operations.

ZRA, NAPSA, and NIHMA Submissions:

Prepare and submit all relevant returns to the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA), and National Health Insurance Management Authority (NIHMA) in compliance with local regulations.

Financial Reporting:

Generate and present detailed monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis, to the Managing Director for strategic decision-making.

Expense Tracking:

Track and record business expenses, ensuring that all costs are accurately recorded and aligned with the company’s financial plans and budget.
Monthly Presentations: Create and deliver clear and concise financial presentations each month, providing the Managing Director with an overview of the company’s financial position, key performance indicators (KPIs), and insights into potential areas for improvement.

Software Proficiency:

Learn and manage financial data through Zoho Books, ensuring accurate entry of transactions, financial reporting, and reconciliations within the system.

Compliance:

Ensure that the company’s financial operations adhere to Zambian accounting standards and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills Required:

Education:
A Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience:
Prior experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, or accounting is preferred but not required.

Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
A keen eye for detail, accuracy, and financial integrity.
Good communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
Willingness and eagerness to learn Zoho Books accounting software. Previous experience with Zoho Books is a plus but not a requirement.

Location: Must be based in Kitwe.
