Job Description
Reports to: Nurse in Charge
We are currently looking for a qualified nurse to join our healthcare team. In this position, you will support the school nurses in the professional and efficient running of the school clinic. You should be highly committed to best practices, knowledgeable of compliance requirements, and able to perform well within a team environment.
General Responsibilities:
General Nursing duties
Support the nurse on duty and nurse in charge in the professional and efficient running of the Clinic.
Gathering and documenting relevant patient’s history information before any diagnosis is made and implementing nursing actions as planned by the Nurse in Charge.
Carry out general administrative duties as and when required by the Clinic department.
Will actively contribute in ensuring that the Clinic medical provisions are in line with the requirements of the Health Professions Council of Zambia.
Triage
Be responsible for triage in the Clinic. The post holder will manage the inflow and outflow of all visitors to the Clinic and prioritise patients according to agreed triage protocols and expected nursing practice.
Be responsible for managing and monitoring patients welfare in the wards.
Stock & Inventory
Be responsible for managing and maintaining medicine stock and supplies for the Clinic and Hostels.
Assist the Nurse in Charge in preparing medicine orders and ensure stock is replenished in a timely manner.
Data Management
Assist the Nurse in Charge in ensuring that the Clinic holds accurate data of each patient systematically, confidentially and securely.
Assist the Nurse in Charge in preparing and producing periodic electronic reports for the MOH and internal board reports.
Communication
Manage incoming calls to the Clinic and regularly monitor the Clinic electronic mail inbox.
Respond to internal and external communication from school employees, parents, government authorities and our other medical partners in a professional and considered manner.
Logistics
Be responsible for arranging transport for medical trips and ensure all necessary information regarding medical trips are arranged proactively in a timely and cost-effective manner.
