Job Description
ORYX Energies S.A “OESA” is one of Africa’s largest and longest established independent providers of oil and gas products and services. In pursuit of its business strategies in Zambia, the company invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Assistant Depot Supervisor, to join its team at ORYX Energies Zambia Ltd “OEZL”, based on the Copperbelt and Lusaka.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Depot Supervisor.
Main responsibilities:
- Conducting of Daily tool box meetings.
- Processing reported near misses and NCs in the company’s HSSEQ reporting platform.
- Ensuring preload inspections are conducted on all vehicles loading product in the depot.
- Conducting job observations on critical tasks to ensure tasks are carried out in line with SOPs.
- Ensuring all new staff, visitors and contractors receive HSSEQ inductions.
- Ensuring that Depot equipment is operating at optimal level through enforcement of company’s asset management and maintenance standards and use of the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ensuring that staff, BVOs and contractors strictly adhere to the company’s code of conduct.
- Ensuring the company’s HSSEQ policies, including the Golden rules are strictly adhered to in all company activities.
- Maintaining strict controls on quality and quantity of stocks through implantation of the company’s SOPs Ensures smooth daily activities regarding safe and efficient customer deliveries.
- Supervising Depot Operators.
- Promoting a culture of operational excellence and exceptional integrity in the team.
Other responsibilities:
- Being proactive and innovative, expected to be highly reliable, to search for excellence, to respect good governance and HSSEQ principles across the company and consider the company’s reputation at all times in particular respecting the OESA Code of Conduct.
Responsible for personal results, and do not hesitate to display a proactive and creative attitude with a particular commitment to teamwork.

Experience & education required:
- Diploma in Engineering, Business, Operations or Supply chain or equivalent. A Degree will be an added advantage.
- Knowledgeable in ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards; Lead Auditor qualification will be an advantage.
- At least 5 years’ work experience of operations management at Supervisory level.
- Oil and Gas industry exposure will be added advantage.
- Project Management knowledge will be added advantage
