Mika Meats Limited is looking a person to fill the position of accounts clerk. This person will be operating from the Mika abattoir in Mongu and another one in Namwala.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handling of receipts and payments surrounding company operations
• Keep a thorough record of accounting transactions
• Preparation of funds utilization reports
• Prepare the daily stock balances report
• Reconcile daily stock movement in and out of the abattoir. i.e. stock movement from the slaughterhouse to cold rooms, from cold rooms to dispatches per product.
• Investigate and explain all abattoir to cold room stock variances and ensure all issues are resolved.
• Report on stock dispatched, Investigate and explain the variances from dispatch to the production plant.
• Effective management of imprest accounts as stipulated by accounting policies and procedures
• Assist senior accounting staff with any ad hoc tasks that require immediate attention
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and liaising with internal auditors
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations surrounding company operations
• Ensure supplier’s invoices are processed and paid on time to avoid supply chain disruptio
• Effective management of relationships with all key stakeholders
• Maintenance of a fixed asset register and safeguarding company assets
• Ensure realization of value for money in the procurement activities of the company
• Ensure utmost compliance with fundamental ethics surrounding company operations

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants have a minimum qualification of Diploma in any accounting courses. Individuals must be trustworthy with high integrity, self-driven and self-starter at work, must be computer literate, good understanding of Microsoft package especially excel and word and competent in presentable report writing, must have good knowledge of the cold chain business.
