Job Description
Scripture Union Zambia is a not for profit, international and interdenominational Christian organization whose primary focus is to evangelize to people of all ages and disciple them so that they get to mature in their faith in Christ. Scripture Union Zambia invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Accounts and Administration Officer on a full-time basis.
Location: Kitwe
Roles & responsibilities
The job holder shall be responsible for carrying out the following responsibilities:
- Capture financial transactions in the accounting system
- Carry out monthly bank reconciliation
- Supervise the bookshop attendant
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Preparation of draft financial statements and supporting schedules
- Handle both payables and receivables function
- Payroll preparation and management
- Creation and consolidation of the draft budget
- Tracking monthly and quarterly expenditure against budget provision
- Preparation and submission of weekly and monthly cashflows
- Actively manage statutory obligations such as Napsa, ZRA, NHIMA
- Carry out administrative functions of the organization such as estate management, fleet management, events management and general logistics
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
The required qualifications are:
- Full grade 12 school certificate.
- Diploma in Accountancy, its equivalent or higher.
- Three years of post-qualifying experience.
- A member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
- Knowledge of Microsoft office, pastel accounting, quick books will be an added advantage
- Uphold good virtues of Christianity and in right standing with a local congregation
