Finance Manager – Zambia
The Finance Manager is a key member of MLG’s team, responsible for providing financial data vital to decision making to aid in our continued growth. This is a great opportunity for you to make a personal contribution to the success of an exciting international company.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of Medici Land Governance, Ltd. business results
- Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements and reports
- Prepare and/or review adjusting journal entries and financial reconciliations
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place and operating effectively
Expand our financial systems and processes - In conjunction with the Director of Finance, establish and report against budgets and projections
- Ensure tax compliance – prepare monthly VAT returns and Withholding tax returns as necessary. Lead liaison with external firm for annual tax compliance.
- Facilitate Accounts Payable – ensure vendors are paid promptly and appropriate documentation is saved and organized
- Facilitate Accounts Receivable – prepare monthly invoices and statements for our customers
- Oversee Payroll –reviewing payroll reports for accuracy
- Builds relationship with customer Finance departments
- Coordinate with external auditors and prepare supporting documents for the audit
What You Should Have:
- Grade 12 GCSE Certificate and transcript results
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- An ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants) or a CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualification
Chartered accountant - Candidate must be a fully registered and paid up member of ZICA (Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants).
- 5+ years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
- Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards
- Experience designing and implementing controls
- Excellent communication skills
- Energetic, results-oriented and independent
What We Hope You Have:
External audit experience
Experience with multi-entity companies using multi-currency
Experience with US GAAP
Experience with Quickbooks Enterprise
