Job Description
SGC Investments Ltd Transport Division with its Head Office and workshop in Ndola is inviting applications for the position of Auto Electrician
Key Responsibilities
Problem solving and attention to detail skills
Keeping equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicle devices; completing preventive maintenance such as, starter motors, ECU, alternator ,APM,gear box malfunctions e.t.c
Maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to driver complaints; conducting inspections; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components.
Maintaining vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and communicate the panel beater
Maintaining vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
Keeping workshop equipment in good operating condition by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs.
Coordinating with stores on the inventory of old parts on daily basis.
Ensure workshop safety to prevent accidents, injury or damage of property
Ensure strict implementation of company rules, regulations and procedures within company policies.
Participate in daily housekeeping of workshop yard and workshop bays
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Problem solving and attention to detail skills
Considerable knowledge of electrical components
Good interpersonal skill
Good work ethics
Qualifications & Experience
Full Grade 12 Certificate
Craft certificate in Automotive mechanic
5 years mechanical experience in busy automotive workshop
Deep mechanical experience in European preferably (Renault & Volvo) and Chinese trucks added advantage
Good experience in fault diagnosis using Tech2 Diagnostic and Scanner
