Job Description
The Food Reserve Agency (FRA) is a statutory institution established under the Food Reserve Act No. 6 of 2020 with a mandate to manage National Strategic Food Reserves. The institution is looking for individuals with appropriate academic and professional qualifications and experience on contract basis, to fill four vacant (4) positions. The applicants are expected to be highly motivated, result oriented and of high personal integrity.

Contract Term: 3 Year Contract
Main Job Purpose:
The jobholder will be required to ensure the procurement and storage of quality grain for long-term storage through monitoring Satellite Depot Clerks and Warehouse Supervisors engaged by the Agency and post- harvest crop management, that the stored crop meets the set quality and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent;
- Diploma in Agricultural Sciences, Crop Science or its equivalent;
- Bachelor of Agriculture Sciences, Crop Science will be an added advantage;
- Minimum of three (3) years working experience;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications; and
- Valid Driving License.
Key responsibilities/accountabilities:
- To enforce compliance to Standard Warehouse Management Procedures by all staff in assigned districts all the time;
- To carry out fumigation of all stocks every three (3) months in the assigned districts;
- Carry out grading of stock in accordance with standard procedures to ensure that stocks are of the required quality in all districts assigned; and
- Monitor pest infestation levels for all stocks purchased and stored in the region to ensure that stored stock is kept according to Standard Warehouse Management Procedures and practices.
Competencies:
- Personal effectiveness and results oriented;
- Demonstrated experience to implement and manage fumigation in accordance with laid down procedures and practices;
- Ability to work in a Team and independently with minimal supervision; and
- Excellent Communication and writing skills.
