Job Description
ASSISTANT OPERATOR – DRILLING MACHINE
JOB PURPOSE
To assist in operating mobile drilling machine in order to drill blast holes as required.
MAIN DUTIES
- Assists in operating mobile drilling machine to drill blast holes horizontally in open cast mine or in face of strip mine:
- Assists in Measuring under cuttings with steel rod to determine depth of undercut and location of holes to be drilled.
- Assists in marking hole locations and boundaries of cut on ribs and face, using chalk…
- Observes electric power cable when moving machine to avoid damage to cable.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 9 School Certificate
- Blast hole Drillers’ Certification.(added advantage)
- Blasting License certificate
- Minimum 2 years work experience in open cast mining/relevant field
