POWER ELECTRICIAN

A mining and Construction company on the Copperbelt is seeking the services of a qualified and experienced Power Electrician.

1. KEY OBJECTIVE

• Installation, maintenance & repairing electrical control, wiring and lighting systems;
• Trouble shooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices;
• Repairing and replacing equipment, wiring and fixtures;
• Installation of safety and distribution components;
• Ensuring that overhead cranes & pumps are in good working order;
• Performing general electrical maintenance.

2. REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• Proven experience as an electrician – at least 10 years
• Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
• Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
• Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts as and when
• Diploma/degree in relevant professional training
• Valid EIZ license to practice profession
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Trade tested Electrician (Technician level)
• Deemed fit for duty after pre-employment medical examination.
• Strict adherence to our zero-tolerance workplace toward alcohol and drugs.
• Strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
