MANAGER-SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

Location: Ndola
Reporting to: Managing Director

Overall purpose of the job

To supervise effectively the safety, health, environment and quality assurance activities in order to ensure that the products and services of the company meet the highest quality standard and that the working conditions of the company are favorable and safe.

Main responsibilities include:

• Supervising effectively the development and implementation of policies. Standard Operating Procedures and Manuals in order to guide the operations of the Section
• Supervising effectively legal compliance to drinking water, occupational health, safety and Environmental regulations in order to adhere to the applicable laws.
• Supervising effectively the monitoring of water and effluent quality in order to ensure safety of portable water and safe disposal of effluent into the environment
• Supervising effectively the adherence to quality, safety, heath and environment related International Organisation for Standard (ISO) in order to protect the customers and maintain the environment.
• Supervising effectively the preparation of operational reports and making recommendations and/or changes to working practices in order to enhance safety and compliance with legislation
• Supervising effectively the identification of risks and hazards and investigations of any accidents and ‘near misses” in order to prevent future reoccurrence.

Qualifications and experience

• Full form V/Grade 12 Certificate
• Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Environment, Public Health. Environmental Health Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8 years experience with 2 years at Management Level
