Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

The Mobile Warehouse Superintendent will be in charge of managing and coordinating warehousing functions of receiving, binning, housekeeping, issuing in the warehouse and managing PCR components. The role will also interpret the supply chain policies specific to warehousing and ensure that all sections of the Warehouse are aligned. The role will also outreach to other areas where warehouse inventory is also stored such as yards and ensure that there is proper storage and accountability and will include the management of a subsidiary warehouse for ancillary mobile machinery.

Specific Job Responsibility

Managing the overall process of receiving, storage and issuing of spares, components and consumables within the Mobile Warehouse and the subsidiary warehouse.
Managing all human resources in the Warehouse.
Make recommendations to improve general warehouse layout and appearance.
Contribute to the supply chain budget by assessing warehouse requirements
Plan the day to day running of the department.
Prepare and manage the section budget.
Manage the PCR rotables function.
Managing the min/max stock levels.
Manage multiple Consignment stock.
Run PRONTO Warehouse Management System for Inventory control.
Manage all disposals and obsolete stock.
Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual stock counts in PRONTO as well as weekly cycle counts.
Continually strive to achieve higher performance levels with lowest cost structure.
Ensure that Parts and Components are delivered timeously.
Ensuring that all employees are in compliance with Mining health and safety regulations and warehouse procedures.
Ensuring inventories are accurate and managing stock counts.
Develop new processes in warehouse where necessary.
Dealing with local and international vendors, end user queries and resolving them in a timely manner.
Producing and publishing regular reports to show trends and stock movement statistics.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Commercial Manager.

Excellent knowledge of warehouse processes and procedures.
Must be able to plan, direct and/or co-ordinate the operations of the Warehouse and ensure that these operations run smoothly.
Bulk material management as well as warehouse and yard management.
Demonstrate awareness of safety practices throughout the site.
Reporting unsafe and hazardous conditions.

Experience Required to Perform in This Job

At least 10 years’ progressive experience with a minimum of 5 years in a key supply chain leadership role in large and complex entities.
Sound background in commerce, logistics, warehousing and procurement operations with awareness of local and international markets.
Mining industry experience will be essential either in the industry itself or for a major OEM supplier to the mining industry.
Knowledge of administrative practices and personnel management.
Excellent communication skills.
Microsoft Office.
A good understanding of accounting principles.
Previous complex ERP experience is a must.

Qualifications

A Bachelors’ degree in Commerce, Business or related field;
Be a member of ZIPS and / or CIPS.
Tertiary qualifications will be an added advantage.
Experience with ultra-class mobile mining equipment.
Experience of handling components for mobile mining equipment.
