Full time (2 years contract)

Lusaka with frequent visits to various project sites in rural locations.

Your tasks and responsibilities as Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning and Advocacy Officer

  • Support project and programme managers to design and implement appropriate M&E systems for their areas of activity.
  • Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures
  • Monitor all programme activities, financial reports, and progress towards achieving programme outputs
  • Monitor and track all programme activities, towards achieving programme outputs
  • Support finalization and review of project reporting, including narrative progress reports, financial reports, and KPIs
  • Recommend further improvement of logical framework
  • Develop monitoring and impact indicators of programme success
  • Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results
  • Monitor the sustainability of the programme results
  • Develop M&E systems for the programme and for the stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain databases, and ensure up-to-date storage and maintenance of data
  • Develop tools, collect data, analyze, and produce reports for dissemination and possible publication
  • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all programme activities to the programme manager, supplying them and other key audiences with the necessary information and data
  • Participate in annual programme reviews and assist the programme manager in preparation of management reports

  • As one of SolidarMed staff members, play a part in supporting the development of the organization and culture, and work closely with the Project Manager

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • University Degree preferably in M&E, Developmental Studies or equivalent
  • A track record in monitoring and evaluation
  • At least five (5) years of experience in design and implementation of M&E/MIS in developmental programmes implemented by government or NGOs
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis, and production of reports
  • Proven ICT skills especially in MIS software
  • Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research techniques
  • Strong influencing, coordination, and management skills
  • Plans, coordinates, and organizes workload while remaining aware of changing priorities and competing deadlines
  • Establishes, builds, and maintains effective working relationship with staff and clients to facilitate provision of support knowledge, management, and learning
  • In-depth knowledge of MSI, M&E and developmental issues
  • Excellent knowledge of monitoring and application of methodology; good understanding of capacity assessment methodology; excellent ability to identify significant capacity building opportunities
  • High standard of written business English for report writing
