Mopani Copper Mines Plc has operations in Mufulira and Kitwe on the Copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Company seeks the services of a Security Officer 11 (x5)

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that company, contractor and individual property is protected and prevent unauthorised entry into Mopani premises

The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to the following: 

• Protect company, contractor and individual property
• Coordinate and communicate effectively to the relevant authorities on all matters related to crime, disciplinary and emergencies reported to security inquiries
• Ensure that all records and registers at security inquiries are updated, kept properly and secured
• Ensure that only authorised persons enter the plant and work areas
• Give guidance to visitors on company rules and regulations whilst on company premises
• Conduct mandatory alcohol test to all MCM employees, contractor employees and visitors at all entry points for Mopani premises
• Ensure that alcohol procedures are compiled with for any person found with positive alcohol reading.
• Ensure that all cases of narcotic substances and drugs use are reported immediately and the employees/persons affected denied access to Company premises
• Ensure that all private property that requires declaration is declared at entry points using the declaration of private property form
• Ensure all persons leaving the Mopani premises are subjected to a mandatory search with the exception of MANCO members.
• The search should be done with respect and dignity
• Ensure that all drivers whose vehicles are being searched switch off the engine and disembark from the vehicle
• Report immediately all incidents that occur during the shift to MCM security Radio Control room, Security inquiries or the shift office
• Enforce adherence of all health and safety requirements to persons entering and working in Company premises as instructed by Management

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Must be between the age of 18 and 30 years
• Must be physically fit
• Should be willing to undergo the necessary trainings once successful
• Additional qualifications will be an added advantage

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives
