Position Summary

Strategic and effective partnerships with bilateral and multilateral sector stakeholders (ML) are critical to Teach For All’s core purpose of developing the collective leadership necessary to ensure all children fulfill their potential.

As Senior Director of Multilateral Partnerships you will provide essential support to our efforts to develop bilateral and multilateral partnerships around the world. Through developing strong partnerships with public sector supporters, such as the United Nations, World Bank, USAID, European Commission, United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and other government aid agencies, you will use your strategic thinking, judgment, and relationship building skills to generate partnerships for Teach For All and a growing number of network organizations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strategic relationships (30%) 
    • Identify strategic relationships with multilateral stakeholders to advance the Teach For All Network’s priorities.
    • Deepen the understanding and appreciation of Teach For All’s core approach and mission among a growing group of diverse global development stakeholders.
    • Steward current multilateral partners by representing the global organization and network.
  • Strategy and execution (50%)
    • Develop and execute strategies and action plans to generate new strategic partnerships with bilateral and multilateral organizations.
    • Support the implementation and operationalization of multilateral partnerships, potentially involving multiple partners, fundraising and advocacy elements, coordination across internal teams among others.
    • Have strong working knowledge of Teach For All’s priorities in order to link the interests and strategic plans of external partners and institutions to our priorities.
  • Communications (20%)
    • Create value propositions for external audiences that are grounded in our core mission.
    • Conceptualize and draft external and internal communications and other requests through relevant internal channels/systems.
  • Contribute to overall strategy and direction of Government & Multilateral Affairs team
    • Identify new strategies and pathways for strengthening the GML team’s overall fundraising, global positioning, and advocacy efforts.
    • Maintain a lens on bilateral and multilateral trends and initiatives with foresight, to help position Teach For All, network partners and alumni for strategic opportunities.
    • Develop project management guidance and processes to fit the mutual needs of external stakeholders, organizational priorities and network partner needs.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience with deep knowledge of the Multilateral field
  • Experience working in Multilaterals and/or in Civil society organizations in charge of Multilateral affairs
  • English fluency required. Fluency in other languages is a plus
  • Strong external presence and comfortable representing the organization externally
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to cultivate long-term champions of our work
  • Experience in cultivating successful and complex external relationships and partnerships
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced and entrepreneurial organization as part of a collaborative and committed team
  • Proactivity and empowerment about his/her responsibilities and those of the team
  • Ability to manage a high volume workload at a fast pace with strong attention to detail and a high bar for quality
  • Ability to multitask, manage concurrent timelines, independently prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, dynamic, start-up environment
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Solutions-oriented and entrepreneurial mindset with proactive approach to problem solving
  • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills
  • Sensitivity to diversity in backgrounds and beliefs (e.g., racial, cultural, socioeconomic, political, etc.)
  • Prior international experience preferred
  • Deeply committed to the mission, vision and values of Teach For All

Compensation

Salary for this position is competitive and dependent on country of hire and prior work experience, and a comprehensive benefits package is included.

Work Authorization

Please note, this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. All candidates must possess permanent local work authorization/permit in order to be considered.

Travel and Hours

Some international travel expected to meet and build positive relationships with global partners. Given that we work across different time zones, some non-traditional hours for early or later calls are an expectation of this role.
