Role Purpose
The role is responsible for managing Quality Assurance processes for Foundation seed including field production, seed processing, warehousing and internal complaints handling, SAP product data management, and providing support to commercial seed production.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
// Manages Foundation seed field and manufacturing Quality Strategy in accordance with regulatory, business, and customer specifications in Zambia while supporting commercial seed production.
// Responsible for SAP release process for Foundation seed, product specifications, and inspection plans.
// Connects with regional and Zambia Foundation E2E PS seed teams to align the local Foundation seed Quality Strategy with the Africa Quality Strategy and ensure compliance securing business freedom to operate.
// Manages Quality activities related to Foundation seed processes and thereby assist in securing stewardship and Zambia seed business’ freedom to operate.
// Collaborates with Quality Testing, and Quality Operations and other Product supply functions to ensure seamless running of Quality activities/tasks.
// Plans, manages, and collects data for Foundation seed grow outs as per regulatory and internal requirements.
// Collaborates with Supply Chain teams to ensure Sub Sahara business is sustained through quality delivery of Foundation seed.
// Executes the Quality budget related to Foundation seed while ensuring prudent cost management programs are implemented in consultation with Quality Operations lead and Africa Quality Assurance lead.
// Plans and leads teams in logging, investigation, and communication of non-conforming outputs that could represent a significant risk to customers or seeds supply and help in reducing DNO/WOFFS.
// Manages implementation of in-process product and process inspection standards and maintain documented information as required by different certification/regulatory bodies and internal standards. // Ensures timely reporting of Quality reports periodically and ad hoc by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing info & trends and recommending improvement plans.
// Manages Foundation seed complaint handling process and investigation for timely and accurate resolution and reporting ensuring best customer experience.
// Collaborates to implement a robust audit program in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ETS, internal standards and maintain certification within the country and the region.
// Manages operational and Strategic risk related to Foundation in Zambia.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
// A minimum of a university undergraduate degree in Agriculture or Crop Science related fields.
// At least 7 years’ experience in field agronomy.
// Technical training in process audit including ISO9001:2015.
// Thorough knowledge of international and local seed regulations and their application.
// Strong analytical skills and results oriented
