Job Description
Trident Preparatory Solwezi is an international primary school with a diverse student and staff body,
offering the Cambridge and IPC curriculums. Situated within the Kansanshi Golf Estate, in Solwezi,
Zambia, the school has access to quality sporting facilities in a secure environment. The Trident
group of schools consists of three prep schools and one secondary school. Trident Prep Solwezi offers
quality education across academics, sport, arts and culture.
Educore Services is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic Learning Support
Practitioner.
The appointee will report to the Head Teacher and be responsible for providing effective, structured and inclusive
Learning Support to students identified through the school’s Learning Support provision.
Main Purpose of the Job
The Learning Support Practitioner works with individual students and small groups to help them access the curriculum, make progress towards identified targets and develop increasing independence. The postholder works closely with class teachers and the Learning Support Coordinator to ensure consistent and appropriate support.
Start date: 1st January 2027
Qualifications Required
- Teaching or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Learning Support training.
- Experience supporting students with additional learning needs in an international or multicultural primary school would be advantageous.
Key Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following key skills:
- Provide scheduled individual and small-group learning support.
- Implement agreed Learning Support strategies, interventions and differentiation.
- Support students in developing appropriate literacy, numeracy, communication and learning skills.
- Reinforce classroom learning without replacing the role of the class teacher.
- Encourage student independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
- Support students’ participation in classroom activities, specialist lessons and wider school activities where required.
- Ability to lead and coordinate other staff in achieving common objectives within the school.
- Enjoy dealing with children across a range of ages.
- Ability to innovate, engage and motivate students.
- Self-motivated individual who enjoys working with others in achieving the objectives of the organisation.
