Job Role: Stock Controller

Responsibilities:

To provide efficient, quality customer retention and service.

  • Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS)
  • Enter purchase details (vendor’s information, invoices and pricing) into internal databases
  • Place orders to replenish merchandise as needed
  • Track shipments and address any delays
  • Oversee storage of products, particularly of fragile items
  • Evaluate suppliers’ offers and negotiate profitable deals
  • Coordinate regular inventory audits
  • Liaise with warehouse staff and other internal teams to test products’ quality (status upon delivery and storage conditions)
  • Keep updated inventory records (including daily shipments)
  • Ensure purchases do not exceed budget

Education/Experience:

  • Grade 12 school certificate
  • Computer certificate or a diploma in Computer Studies
  • Diploma in Purchase and Supply (is an added advantage)
  • 1–2 years of experience in Stock Management
  • Basic knowledge in data analysis
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to work at heights
  • Candidate should be medically fit

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:

  • Basic maths skills
  • Basic knowledge in computer skills (proficient in Excel)
  • Honesty and trustworthiness
  • Age requirement – usually 18+ in Zambia

Physical Exam Required: Medical Report & Police Clearance
