To undertake the conduct of technical assessments for rural electrification projects in order to facilitate project planning.
Responsibility:
Rural Electrification Master Plan    Undertakes effectively the coordination of the development and review of the Rural Electrification Master Plan (REMP) in order to guide the implementation of rural electrification programmes.
Reconnaissance Surveys    Undertakes effectively the conduct of reconnaissance surveys in order to facilitate the selection of rural electrification project sites.
Technical Assessmen    Undertakes effectively the conduct of technical assessments for rural electrification projects in order to facilitate project planning.
Research and Development    Undertakes periodically the conduct of research and development activities in order to facilitate technological advancements in the energy sector.
Quality Management System    Undertakes effectively the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems in order to ensure compliance to set standards.
Risk Management    Undertakes effectively the preparation and updating of the technical risk register in order to ensure effective management of risk.

Qualification Required:
Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia, Validation Certificate from Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA), Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent, Full Form V/ Grade 12 School Certificate

To undertake the financial analysis of rural electrification projects in order to ascertain their financial viability.
Responsibility:
Financial Analysis Models    Undertakes effectively the development of financial analysis models in order to facilitate prioritisation of rural electrification projects.
Tariffs    Undertakes effectively the development and review of tariff proposals in order to determine the price for electricity supply by projects.
Smart Subsidies    Undertakes effectively the design of benchmarks for award of smart subsidies in order to promote the participation of the private sector in rural electrification programmes.
Quality Management System    Undertakes effectively the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems in order to ensure compliance to set standards.
Risk Management    Undertakes effectively the preparation and updating of the financial risks in order to ensure effective management of risk.
