About This Role
 The Manager Sr, Resource Mobilization and Partnership plays a pivotal role in advancing ChildFund International’s grant acquisition and management strategy. Based in Zambia, this position leads the design and execution of the Country Office’s resource mobilization strategy to support the implementation of the strategic plan. As a member of the senior management team, the Manager drives all business development efforts, including identifying funding opportunities, developing high-quality proposals, and cultivating relationships with diverse donors such as foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies, corporate partners, and individual donors.
This role requires building and leading a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and innovation, and working closely with senior management and the Global Resource Mobilisation Team to ensure the Country Office achieves its funding goals.

 

Required Experience and Education
  • Master’s degree in international development, Public Health, business development Communication or other relevant area.
  • Experience in fundraising/investor relations /marketing or closely related discipline or equivalent relevant work experience would be considered
  • At least 8- 10 years of experience in resource mobilization in international development organizations in Zambia; experience in other industries or technical areas will be considered.

 

Primary Responsibilities
Resource Mobilization Strategy

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of the Country Office resource mobilization strategy.
  • Actively contribute to Country Office plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational grant acquisition strategies.
  • Coordinate donor mapping and capture plans to strengthen the fundraising pipeline.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and the Global Business Development Team to pre-position the Country Office for grant opportunities.
  • Identify and analyze funding opportunities and potential partnerships to expand the program portfolio.
  • Build staff and partner capacity for successful grant acquisition and management.
  • Ensure all business development activities comply with ChildFund’s policies and practices.

Networking and Relationship Building

  • Maintain proactive and strategic engagement with potential donors.
  • Represent ChildFund in local corporate and donor networks, as well as fundraising events.
  • Support engagement in strategic partnerships with civil society, INGOs, UN agencies, and government entities.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to develop targeted donor engagement materials.
  • Develop donor engagement strategies for priority stakeholders.

Proposal Development

  • Conduct desk reviews to inform proposal strategies, including Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Develop evidence-based capability statements, past performance references, and reports.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and cost recovery in grant budgets.
  • Oversee the use of Salesforce to track funding opportunities.
  • Implement systems to streamline proposal drafting and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Team Leadership and Knowledge Management

  • Lead a high-performing resource mobilization team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Develop and share knowledge products such as lessons learned, case studies, and program designs.
  • Maintain a knowledge management system to track opportunities and store proposal templates, program concepts, and capacity statements.
  • Ensure effective information sharing across technical teams and field programs.

  • Acquire and apply knowledge to promote strong safeguarding practices.
