As we continue to expand our financial technology and payment solutions portfolio, we are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Interns to join our Finance and Operations team.

About the Role

 

The Accounting Intern will support financial operations by assisting with transaction reconciliation, financial reporting, payment verification, record management, and data analysis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and final-year students to gain hands-on experience in accounting, financial controls, reconciliation processes, and large-scale payment systems.

The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Operations, and Technical teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accountability of financial transactions processed through various digital platforms and payment channels.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

    • Reconcile payment, collection, and financial transactions across multiple systems and data sources.
    • Verify transaction accuracy and identify discrepancies, anomalies, or missing records.
    • Investigate and assist in resolving reconciliation exceptions and financial variances.
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation reports and supporting schedules.
    • Maintain accurate financial records, documentation, and audit trails.
    • Assist in the preparation of management reports and financial analyses.
    • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes where required.
    • Perform data validation and quality assurance checks on financial information.
    • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Technical teams to ensure transaction integrity and reporting accuracy.
    • Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and financial control activities.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening financial operations and reporting efficiency.
    • Perform any other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Recent graduates and final-year students are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

 

Added Advantages

 

  • Knowledge of bank reconciliations and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience working with large datasets and transaction records.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, or financial management platforms.
  • Knowledge of digital payment systems, mobile money, banking operations, or transaction processing environments.
  • Understanding of Social Cash Transfer (SCT), FISP, FRA, or similar large-scale payment programs.
  • Professional qualification progress such as ZICA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
