SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY SCIENCS
Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced professionals to fill the following academic and clinical positions in the School of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. All positions are on a full-time basis.
5. LECTURER – CRITICAL CARE NURSING
Job Purpose:
To provide advanced teaching, clinical instruction, and supervision in Critical Care Nursing in line with approved curricula and professional standards.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver teaching and learning in Critical Care Nursing in accordance with approved curricula, academic standards, and best clinical practices.
Supervise and support students during clinical placements in intensive care and high-dependency units to ensure safe practice and achievement of required competencies.
Develop, administer, and mark assessments, examinations, and practical evaluations, and provide academic mentorship to students.
Contribute to the development, review, and improvement of Critical Care Nursing curricula and clinical training approaches.
Participate in academic, clinical coordination, and quality assurance activities related to teaching and learning.
Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science
BSc in Nursing or related discipline
MSc in Critical Care Nursing
Minimum two (2) years tertiary teaching experience
NMCZ registration and ZAQA clearance
Key Attributes and Competences:
Demonstrated competence in Critical Care Nursing practice and teaching.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
High standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
Ability to mentor, guide, and support students academically and clinically.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary academic and clinical team.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Demonstrated involvement in research activities and/or contribution to scholarly publications will be an added advantage.
