Job Purpose:

• To coordinate and oversee the daily operations of an open pit mine, which includes managing the movement of personnel, equipment and materials, as well as ensuring compliance with safety regulations as well as company policies and procedures.

Duties:

• Coordinate daily mining operations
• Plan and coordinate the movement of personnel, equipment and materials to ensure efficient and safe mining operations.
• Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and utilized and that resources are allocated effectively.
• Monitor and ensure compliance to safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Track and report on production targets and identify areas of improvement.
• Work with other departments such as survey and maintenance to ensure that mining operations are integrated.
• Lead and participate in meetings and briefings.

Skills & qualifications:

• Minimum of a diploma in mining engineering or related.
• Minimum of three years proven experience in an open pit mine.
• Must have a valid, driver’s license, blasting & First Aid certificates.
• Must be a member of EIZ /ERB
• Prior experience of operating a mobile equipment or supervising a crew will be an added advantage.
