Impuls Africa is a Zambian-registered company that specializes in delivering agricultural consultancy and extension services in the SADC region. Owned by a cooperative of over 100 farmers and a seasoned agri-entrepreneur in Zambia, the Impuls team brings more than 75 years of combined expertise in agriculture and livestock services. Impuls has a strong track record of successfully developing and implementing large-scale projects in agriculture, livestock, agroforestry, apiculture, and horticulture value chains. We specialize in providing services to both donors and the private sector, offering everything from one-off consulting assignments to long-term project implementation and management. Our primary focus is on agricultural consulting, in which we excel at delivering a diverse range of short- and long-term assignments. Our services include needs assessments, market assessments, facilitation of market linkages, value chain assessments and development, feasibility studies, capacity assessments, training and development, strategy development, as well as monitoring and quality assurance measures.

Sales and Marketing Officer

Location: Lusaka

Reports to: General Manager

Type: Full-time

The Sales and Marketing Officer will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and executing effective sales and marketing strategies. This role involves identifying new market opportunities, fostering relationships with clients, and enhancing the company’s brand presence. The officer will oversee both the sales and marketing activities to ensure the alignment of marketing initiatives with sales goals, leveraging digital marketing and traditional strategies to achieve business objectives.

  • Increase followers, engagement and traffic to our website and platforms

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Design and implement sales plans to achieve business growth targets. Identify potential markets and expand the customer base.
  • Marketing Campaigns: Create and manage marketing campaigns to promote products and services, focusing on both digital and traditional marketing channels.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities. Use insights to refine sales and marketing strategies.
  • Brand Management: Strengthen the company’s brand by managing its image and positioning in the market. Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing materials.
  • Digital Marketing: Oversee the company’s digital marketing efforts, including social media, email campaigns, and website management. Use analytics to track performance and optimize strategies.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective service delivery.
  • Sales Performance Monitoring: Track and report on sales performance. Use data to forecast sales trends and adjust strategies as necessary.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Increase customer acquisition and retention rates.
  • Improve brand visibility and engagement across all platforms.
  • Enhance website traffic and conversion rates from digital marketing efforts.

Key Relationships:

Internal: Collaborate with product development, customer service, and finance teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market offerings and customer satisfaction.
External: Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance market presence and business opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and marketing; knowledge of agribusiness is an added advantage.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful sales and marketing strategies.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media management with proven track record of growing and managing social media accounts.
  • Strong understanding of SOE and content management systems
  • Photography and videography skills
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, photo and video editing software
  • Creative mindset with a good eye for design and aesthetics
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
