Finance and Administration Intern

Zambia NGO WASH Forum is seeking to hire a Finance and Administration Intern to join the team. The position will work under the Administration and Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including data entry and documentation.
Support the reconciliation of bank statements and financial accounts, assist in investigating and resolving any discrepancies
Preparation of payment vouchers and support documentation for all payments
Preparation of all receipts for Membership payments and program funds transfers
Petty cash planning and disbursements while ensuring proper documentation and adherence to petty cash policies.
Support compliance efforts with internal policies and external regulations
Maintaining an efficient filing system (ensure efficient filing of all stakeholder correspondence, contracts )
Scanning of all accounting documentation used for supporting financial reports
Support with Assets management
Maintaining supplier/ consumables contact list
Assist with organizing workshops and meetings, including booking venues, preparing meeting materials and managing participant lists.

Key Requirements:

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification
Registered Member of ZICA or other relevant professional bodies
Strong interest in pursuing a career in finance, accounting, or business administration.
Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Previous experience with QuickBooks accounting software package is an advantage
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn.
Previous experience in an administrative or finance-related role (internships or part-time work) is an advantage
