POSITION:
Senior Accountant
DEPARTMENT & LOCATION:
Accounts & Finance, Lusaka
JOB PURPOSE:
To perform a full range of accounting and finance duties, including preparation of annual financial reports and statements and Cash Flow Projections.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the management of the overall financial control environment to identify, control and escalate potential risks.
- Provide appropriate leadership, coaching, supervision and guidance to the Team.
- Assist the Chief Accountant in managing the Company’s Treasury, Receivables and Payables.
- Spearhead submission of returns and payment of statutory obligations.
- Work with auditors to ensure accurate and complete audit documents are kept and availed.
- Assist with the preparation of various Budgets.
- Spearhead the payroll management, to ensure full compliance to regulations and company policy.
- Supervise the accurate preparation of monthly payroll.
- Maintain an updated Schedule for employee service benefits, such as gratuity and others.
- Ensure that company assets are well secured and documented by keeping a complete and updated Asset Register.
- Secure and Safeguard Company information through regular and safe backup of company files.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Preferred Professional Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia or equivalent).
- Must be a registered member of ZICA.
Knowledge / Experience
- Minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience.
