Job Opportunity: Chief Librarian
Are you passionate about academic excellence, resource management, and leading innovation in library services and management? Unicaf University Zambia is seeking a qualified and visionary Chief Librarian to spearhead its library operations and support teaching, learning, and research across the institution both off-line and online.
Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Key Responsibilities
Lead and implement strategic plans to align the library with academic & Research goals.
Manage library collections (print & digital) to support diverse program audience.
Collaborate with faculty to enhance teaching and research outcomes.
Ensure compliance with program accreditation standards and compliance requirements.
Develop library staff and oversee operational excellence.
Build partnerships with external libraries and promote campus engagement.
Qualifications
Full Grade 12 school certificate or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science (essential).
Master’s in Library and Information Studies or a relevant field (required)
A PhD in Library Studies or related field (advantageous).
At least 8 years of experience, with 5 years in senior management.
Membership in a relevant professional association.
Competencies
Strong IT and research skills.
Excellent team management and interpersonal abilities.
Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
Effective verbal communication and presentation expertise.
Familiarity with digital libraries, databases, and user-centric resource assessment.
