Job Summary

Our Client, located in Woodlands, Lusaka, is looking to hire a Chef who will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing food preparation, and ensuring the highest standard of culinary excellence. The role holder will play a key role in menu development, kitchen efficiency, and maintaining a positive and collaborative working environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Chef will be responsible for:

• Planning and executing a diverse and creative menu in line with Woodlands Ash Lodge‘s culinary vision.
• Managing and supervising kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Ensuring consistent food quality and presentation according to established standards.
• Collaborating with management to develop new menu items, taking into account seasonal availability and customer preferences.
• Monitoring and controlling food costs, minimizing waste, and maximizing profitability.
• Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Staying updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to bring innovation to the menu.
• Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.

Qualifications, Skills, Proficiencies, Experience, and Exposure

The ideal candidate should have:

• A minimum of two years of experience as a Chef.
• Proven experience as a Chef in a similar culinary environment.
• Relevant certification (preferred).
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Creativity and a passion for culinary arts.
• Knowledge of current food trends and culinary techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
