Job Description


Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, professional, and energetic Resort Manager with a deep appreciation for Zambian cuisine, especially in the art of braai (barbecue) cooking, and extensive experience in bar management. This leadership role requires someone who is hands-on in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the resort, ensuring an outstanding experience, maintaining high service standards, and inspiring the team to deliver excellence at every level.

Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management: maintenance, dining, and activities, ensuring seamless coordination and smooth functioning.
– Work closely with department heads to ensure that all areas operate efficiently and consistently meet guest expectations.

2. Team Leadership:
– Lead, motivate, and train the resort staff to ensure high levels of performance, morale, and teamwork.
– Develop and implement effective staff training programs, focusing on service standards and hospitality excellence.
– Foster a positive and productive work environment by encouraging collaboration and open communication.

3. Culinary & Bar Management:
– Use your expertise in Zambian cuisine and many more to create authentic and memorable dining experiences, with a focus on braai (barbecue) cooking and local specialties.
– Manage the braai station, ensuring consistent quality and a memorable guest experience.
– Oversee the bar, ensuring a fully stocked inventory, quality drink offerings, and excellent customer service.

4. Financial Oversight:
– Manage budgets and monitor resort finances to ensure cost control, profitability, and sustainable growth.
– Implement pricing strategies, promotions, and upselling techniques to maximize revenue while maintaining high service standards.

6.Health & Safety Compliance:
– Ensure that the resort adheres to all local health and safety regulations, particularly those relating to food preparation, service, and hygiene standards.
– Regularly audit health and safety practices to ensure they align with best industry practices.

7. Marketing and Sales Support:
– Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance the resort’s visibility and reputation in the marketplace.
– Contribute to promotional campaigns and initiatives that drive bookings and brand loyalty.

Requirements:

– Proven experience in hospitality management, particularly in a resort or similar high-service environment.
– Strong knowledge of Zambian cuisine, with a particular emphasis on braai (barbecue) techniques and local dishes.
– Extensive experience in bar management, including inventory control, drink preparation, and customer service.
– Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on, approachable style.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
– In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
– Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
