Job Description
Job Title: Credit Controller
Department: Finance
Location: Lusaka
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Credit Controller will oversee the Credit Management strategically and effectively in line with the overall company’s strategic objectives, ensuring that the credit policy in respect of premiums is effective and efficiently implemented while at the same time playing an advisory role to management on debt management.
- Development, implementation, and reviewing of credit management strategies in line with the overall corporate strategic objectives.
- Verification and reviewing payments to intermediaries for onward approval.
- Analyzing credit risks and obtaining security where needed.
- Developing and enhancing good relations with banks and credit organisations.
- Setting cash targets to ensure collection of outstanding premiums in line with policy provisions.
- Drive collection of premium debited monthly.
- Visit and call intermediaries for follow-up on collections and reconciliations to provide a weekly report.
- Confirm and submit accurate broker/agent statement reports when requested by the clients
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly debtors report
- Being a key point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting matters
- Other finance ad-hoc duties
Candidate Experience
- Minimum of 2- 4 Years’ Experience in a similar position, candidates with experience in the Insurance Industry will be an added advantage
- Degree or Diploma in Finance or any Business-related field
- Experience in using General Insurance Software and MS Excel, MS Word
- Possess good assessment and analytical skills
