Job Description
Lubambe Copper Mine Limited (LCML) owns and operates the Lubambe underground Copper Mine located in Chililabombwe District of the Copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Mine which commenced operations in 2012 is situated approximately 468 kilometres North of the Capital City of Lusaka, 152 Kilometres from Ndola and approximately 40 Kilometres from Chingola.
Lubambe Copper Mine sits on an area of approximately 58.1 square kilometres and comprises an existing underground mine, characterised by two distinct limbs (the East and South Limbs) and a processing Plant with a capacity to process up to 2.4 million tonnes per annum.

LCML seeks to employ an experienced and qualified individual in the following position:
SHIFT GEOLOGIST (X1)
This position reports to the Senior Grade Control Geologist.
Core Purpose of the Position
The primary purpose of this role is to provide grade control functions.
Key Performance Areas/Indicators (KPA/Is):
- Conduct Safety talks and adherence to safe working standards.
- Ore drive mapping, piloting, and sampling.
- On draw stope/panel monitoring and sampling.
- Update the face sampling database and generation of pseudo holes. Sampling database must be accurate and updated with all recently sampled information.
- Update of geological level plans with all available information ranging from face samples.
- Conduct pre-stope mapping and provide mapped geological data to the Resource geologist.
- Inspect and confirm slot and or stope drilling compliance to geological dips for respective panels.
- Generate planned ore drive advance grades for monthly planning forecast.
- Ensure the assay footwall is marked up to the last supported position of respective ore drives.
- Frequent underground visits for areas with complex geology and provide guidance.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mineral Science (Geology) or equivalent.
- Underground mining experience will be added advantage.
- Member of Geoscience professional body.
- Ability to write and produce a Geological report.
- Practical experience in use of Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word & Powerpoint.
