Core purpose: The Officer, Finance will be processing payments, receiving liquidations and filing all finance documents relating to ChildFund Direct Implementation in Chibombo District. Other duties will include development of BVAs, bank reconciliations, and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Ensure the highest degree of integrity in the accounting records
  • Verify all purchases with appropriate account codes and ensure daily data entry
  • Ensure and verifies the timely payment of justified project expenses
  • Ensure the validation of inter-fund receivables and payables on monthly basis
  • Prepare cash flows and projections
  • Provide financial advice to management
  • Timely compilation and submission of monthly BVAs and finance reports.
  •  Processing all payments on time
  • Ensuring that all entries relating to disbursements, receipts or adjustments are posted, printed and checked against source documents.
  • Checking and coding suppliers’ invoices working with ChildFund Zambia
  • Ensuring adherence to Monthly Statutory obligations such as NAPSA & PAYE ensuring annual returns for registration and other related payments are remitted before due dates
  • Assisting in management of debtors and reconciliation of receivable statements
  • Follow up on outstanding staff credits(advances)
  • Daily reconciliation of receipts where applicable
  • Reconciliation of Bank Accounts
  • Thorough review of liquidations from all staff under Chibombo direct implementation.
  • Cash Book Management
  • Ensure financial activates of organization are in accordance with regulations and laws of Zambia
  • Ensure that the Agency establishes guidelines for filing, documentation listing and storage
  • Ensure proper management of the financial filing system
  • Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required Experience and Education

  • Grade twelve (12) Certificate
  • Fully qualified ACCA II or CIMA II Registered member of ZICA
  • Minimum three (3) years work experience in financial accounting
  • Basic understanding of accountancy and bookkeeping
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Pastel
  • Hands on experience on all aspects of accounting, excellent hands-on experience in sage Evolution accounting software
  • Prior experience with NGO or other grant funded organization is an added advantage
