Job Description
The Board of Isoka Trades Training Institute (ISOTTI) under the Ministry of Technology and Science of the Republic of Zambia, situated in Isoka in Muchinga Province is looking for a high calibre mature person to fill the position of Vice Principal.
Isoka Trades is a TEVETA registered training institution which offers demand driven Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Courses on full-time Learning basis. The Institution operates on a Termly Calendar (January – April, May – August, September – December) with a student population of 450, of which about one third reside in the College Hostels.
The College was commissioned on 10th August, 2019. It started with a lean workforce to help with its operationalization. Three Trade Test programmes namely; Electrical Engineering, Automotive Mechanics and Bricklaying and Plastering were run from inception up to December 2020. In January 2021 General Agriculture was introduced at Trade Test Level also. Design, Cutting and Tailoring was introduced in January 2022. In 2023 craft programmes were introduced for all the five programmes. Plans are underway to introduce Carpentry and Joinery and Metal fabrication.
JOB PURPOSE
To plan, direct, coordinate and control all training programs and general administration of the College. The Vice Principal reports to the Principal.
THE JOB HOLDER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Administering efficiently and effectively the training programs of the institution;
- Promoting training programs in order to contribute to the development of Technical Education Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) in Zambia;
- Reporting regularly and whenever appropriate to the Principal on the technical performance of the institution; and
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Full Grade Twelve Certificate;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Economics, Business Administration or its equivalent;
- Post graduate Diploma in Education and teaching experience;
- Master’s Degree and professional knowledge in Human Resource and Financial Management or a relevant field will be an added advantage;
- At least five (05) years’ experience at Senior Management level (i.e. Vice Principal, Deputy Director and Head of Department) in the TEVET Sector; and
- At least 35 years old but less than sixty (60) years of age.
