JOB TITLE: Partnership and Sales Officer (PSOs) x 2
FUNCTION: Sales & Partnerships LOCATION:
1. 1st PSO to cover Lusaka, Southern, Central and Western provinces
2. 2nd PSO to cover Copperbelt and North-Western provinces
ROLE PURPOSE:
This role demands a dynamic individual with a blend of sales acumen of selling our branded irrigation solutions, creating partnerships, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively with farmers and engage with a range of key stakeholders is crucial for success in this position.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Contract Type: Fixed Term
Reports to: Country Manager – Zambia
Staff directly reporting to this post: None
Works with: Dealers, Partners such as NGOs, & Farmer groups and Government
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
1. Pump Sales and Awareness:
- Drive awareness, interest, and sales of MoneyMaker pumps to both partners and individuals in designated regions.
- Achieve set monthly and annual sales targets.
2. Reporting and Planning:
- Prepare and send detailed monthly work plans and daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
3. Donor-Funded Programs:
- Implement programs funded by donors effectively.
- Collect case studies from successful farmers for program evaluation and promotion.
4. Dealer Management:
- Manage dealer stock levels and relationships.
- Ensure dealers conduct pump demonstrations and maintain visibility of MoneyMaker pumps.
- Ensure all pumps are sold as part of a bundle.
5. Field Activities and Advocacy:
- Coordinate with the Country Manager/Regional Manager to ensure field activities are executed.
- Advocate for and publicize KickStart through field days, exhibitions, shows, and assigned advertising programs.
6. Partner and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with potential partner organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to access provincial budgets and promote irrigation.
7. Training and Education:
- Train partner organizations, farmer groups, and government agencies on irrigation and farming as a business.
8. Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to both existing and new customers.
- Ensure the guaranteed service promised by KickStart is delivered.
9. Representation:
- Represent KickStart in stakeholder forums, effectively communicating the organization’s mission and values.
Key Performance Indicators:
1. Sales Targets:
- Achieve the set sales targets on a monthly basis.
2. Donor Programs:
- Meet or exceed targets related to donor-funded programs.
3. Sales Pipeline Development:
- Develop a robust sales pipeline with potential partners and generate repeat sales.
4. Work Plan Utilization:
- Effectively utilize and implement the work plans.
5. Dealer Relationships:
- Maintain productive relationships with dealers, ensuring stock levels and demonstration activities are well-managed.
6. Market Understanding:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the operational area, including potential areas and partners.
7. Demonstrations and Marketing:
- Conduct effective pump demonstrations and marketing activities in assigned territories.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Work Plan Preparation:
- Develop and execute monthly work plans effectively.
2. Dealer Stocking:
- Ensure dealers are stocked appropriately in assigned territories.
3. Inquiry Management:
- Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
4. Order Management:
- Ensure dealers have adequate stock and timely raise orders.
5. Field Activities:
- Participate in field activities organized by partners, government agencies, and stakeholders.
6. Relationship Building:
- Build and nurture relationships with potential partners to promote irrigation and pump sales.
7. Brand Representation:
- Wear MoneyMaker branded uniforms during KickStart activities or partner forums.
8. CRM Utilization:
- Use the organization’s CRM system effectively to track and manage engagements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Diploma or degree in Sales and Marketing.
Experience:
- Three years of experience in sales or marketing.
- Experience in selling assets to rural markets.
- Experience working with retail markets is preferred.
