Job Description


Recruiting a Bookkeeper for an Architectural Firm

Reporting Lines:

  • Will be reporting to the Principal Architect and to the Firm’s Partners.

Bookkeeper roles and responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting transactions
  • Keep accurate records of company finances
  • Manage and monitor business compliance across the board
  • Liaise with the external Accountant for annual accounts and tax queries
  • Reconciliation, preparation and presentation of monthly Business Financial Activity Statements/Summaries
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Managing and processing payroll and all related payroll tasks
  • Liaison with External Auditors

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Business Degree or Diploma in Accounting

Required Skills:

  • Experience across a wide range of accounting functions
  • Strong level of accuracy & attention to detail
  • Ability to take responsibility and manage the workload
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Intermediate computer software skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Must be familiar with all statutory submissions (both online and physical) including PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, Personal Tax, ZRA Smart Invoicing System, etc.)

Required Documentation:

  • Academic Certification
  • Valid NRC and Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Police Clearance
  • Minimum of two (2) Solid References
  • Minimum of 3 years work-experience in a related field

Monthly Salary:

  • K15,000.00 Gross while on probation (3-month period), K20,000.00 Gross upon confirmation

Employment Contract:

  • Fixed-Term (Annual) and Full-Time
